Family communication.

I am responsible for reaching out to develop strong and meaningful relationships with the families of each child, no matter their past experience with schools or teachers, to demonstrate that I am an ally of their child.  Together, we will ensure that their child grows holistically as a child--academically, socially, emotionally and culturally.

Modes of Communication

The type of technology I would use is phone calls because it’s quick and easy way to communicate simple, positive message to families.  A 2-minute call to share with family member something positive his/ her child did today will pay big dividends in terms of relationship building.  Every family wants to hear these positive messages and phone calls makes easier. I will make sure to call all families with positive messages from their kids. I will make sure to know what time works best for the parents, that way I know I am not distracting them. Other reason why I choose phone calls is because their might be families that don’t have emails or don’t use any type of technology for that type of family phone calls work best for them. Their might be also families that don’t know how to read if the teachers send weekly news.so I believe phone calls work best. For phone calls I need to remember that the family might be at public place so it’s important for me to if I am calling at a convenient time.  Other technology that I would use to is to send emails to the parents that have an access to emails and that are able to read. There is way that work best for each family and I would make sure to know which communication tool works the best for each family. Asking families what works for them is important.

Phone calls
Emails
Parent’s teacher conference
Text messages

I would use phone calls or emails every day. I would call the parents or email them of how their child did today in class, whether it was good or bad. When you have good connection or relationship with the parents is easier for you to tell them negative thing that their child did today.   I would share the lesson for the week, what we did today in class and what we will be doing the next day, so that the parent have an idea of what their child is learning if they need help with homework. I would ask the parents to be honest with me so I can surely know that this communication tool is working. I would also know if it’s working by asking them if they understand what I am talking about. Or if they start asking me questions about the activity that we did today, then I know it’s working. If I figure that families are not responding to me, I would try to do is to check in twice every year, just to see if what I am doing is working with the family. Making survey and asking the parents to take to see if I am communicating well with them.
I would choose newsletter that way I am able to communicate with all the parents.

Mock Up of a Communication Strategy

Dear, parent or guardian,

My name is Ifrah Aden   and I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you and your child to a new year at school. I am looking forward to getting to know you and your child throughout the coming year, which surely promises to bring with it, many new experiences and challenges.
I look forward to working in partnership with you throughout the coming year and I am confident that together we can provide the support and encouragement needed to help your child excel. If you have any questions now or at any time in the future, don’t hesitate to contact me.

I am writing this letter to you to know if this plan communication of the newsletter is working for you. I want to make sure all the families of my students are included and are able to stay in touch with me. I know families speak different languages but I will make sure to translate to your native language if that is needed.  I tend to use newsletter to regularly stay in touch with you and if this does not work for you I am willing to do whatever plan that’s works for every family. The reason why I choose newsletter is because I think there might be families that don’t have internet access at home, or families that don’t use emails, face books or might not speak English. I choose newsletter so I can stay in touch with every family. I will try to find translate the newsletter to the native language for those that don’t speak English, I will call if that works for some families.

Reflection

One way that I will see if my plan worked this year so far is to give parents survey to take online or paper either way that works for them. After I calculate the result of the responses from the parents then I will know if it worked or not.  I would also look to see how the relationship with parents is. If we have good connection and partnership. I would look for to see if the parents are more comfortable talking to me than they were at the beginning of the year. If I’m hearing back from the families regarding who’ve sent the newsletter home with their students, I will know that the plan is working. If I don’t hear back from Families, I will worry that it’s not reaching them. If I’m getting poor Feedback from families about the letters or if I’m simply not getting enough feedback, I would More than likely consider changing my method of communication.

DEAFNESS AND BLINDNESS.

Deaf blindness refers to a child with both hearing and visual disabilities. deafblindness is not caused by single medical condition. people can be born deafbilnd, possibly as result of infection, genetic of syndrome or birth trauma.

They face challenges every day . they face discrimination. People try to ignore them like they dont exists. People see them as they are less than us. I have to blind girls in my "learners for expectational leaders class". they talk about their experinces they have with people. they say when they are around people that can see they feel like they are being less and ignored by them . its because we make them feel that way. They also say for example when they go to restaurants to eat and they are with family members the waitress may say like " whats does she want to eat ?" like she doesn't hear or like she is not there. i believe if people treat them like they exit it would have been easier for them to interact or communicate with people.

here is some challenges that they face in classrooms.

technology

In today’s world where just about everything is more convenient and accessible do to technology. First education has been greatly advanced by technological of computers. Students are able to learn without leaving classrooms. It made everything easy.
#1: social connection: you are able to have chat, video chat with people that are far along.
#2 social media: technology made it easier to stay in touch with your loved ones.
Without technology I wouldn't be able to do this assignment.
Technology has become an integral part of our society. Its part of everything we do including how we learn and teach.
Benefits for Technology in classroom
#1: Technology make learning fun and interesting. It engages and challenges students with brand new interactive methods.
#2: It increases collaboration. It will be easy for students to work and collaborate with people in other locations.
#3: it improves their skills which include, building team work, problem solving, listening, planning, communication and a lot more.
#4: future careers. The future is all about technology and how I will help students to be prepare for their future careers.
Great accessibility.
There is a lot more.
Technology has been part of our daily life. When we sleep at night we put alarm to wake us up in morning. We check our cellphones of how called us, texted .we also check the weather, news and everything.
We used technology for social media.
Face book
Twitter
Snap chat
Skype
Vibe
Whats App

Kick
And more without technology we would have any access to that.
The impact that technology has on schools daily life has been significant. Students are learning new way to stay connected to school and to have fun. Teachers are learning how to teach with emerging technologies. Including iPad smart boards, digital cameras computers, and tablets,

When I become teacher I will teach my students new ways of learning. I will also show them the benefits of technology and how it’s going to help them if they use it in beneficial way.
Technology by minutes and as educators and teachers we need to keep up with the times in order to best prepare our students for this ever changing world that we lived in today.Lastly technology has changed everything and it will keep changing everyday.
